Generalmajor Hans Leistikow (1895-1967)

Hello to all Generals experts
I am puzzled, Gen. Leistikow was promoted 1.10.44 to Gen.Maj., still in the staff of the Mil.Befh. Frankreich ? In which position and until when he served there ? Did he hold any other positions from 10.44 to 5.45 ?
Thanks for any help. Friendly, Rossano

Biblio-Verlag had him as Kdr. FK 582 m.d.W. d. G.b. for 4 days. 20.06.44 - 24.06.44. Then Führerreserve.

Cheers
Elwyn

Strangely I have seen entries in Bradley stating a General was in Führerreserve and zeitweise (simultaneously) Kdr. or mFb ___ ID or whatever for a particular time period. Also, some times a command extended past his date of going into Führerreserve.
What's German for "go figure"?

Bill

It's the difference between his official status and what he was actually doing. His official status can be "in the FR" but he can be appointed to a temporary command at the same time. If there was no intention for him to be appointed to a permanent command his official status could remain "in the FR".

Same applies to command changes when there is a delay in handover, in sorting out dates when someone is wounded, and later in the war when generals such as Johannes Block and Walter Hartmann were appointed to the staff of the Heeresgruppen to stand in for commanders who were sick or on leave.

Regards

John

Thanks, I kind of thought that's how it went with Fuehrer Reserve from what I've seen in Bradley.

Thanks Orlov for the info but can you translate that into English?
Also, is there a photo of him?
