Hi Doug,

Not that much to add but I have.....

- Generalmajor Ernst Wendland
- There is a Generalmajor Kurt Müller 29.04.1882 - 15.06.1942 who was Generalmajor 01.04.35
- Generalmajor Albert Most died in 1938 (sorry that's all I have)
- Kabisch has a Generalmajor Georg Schwager 20.02.1869 - 20.02.1959, verabschiedet 01.02.26

I have no trace of Reichard or v Remberg

Cheers
Elwyn

Thanks Elwyn and Dieter. Every little bit helps! I had a feeling it was Wendlandt but wasn't sure. Most of these guys were from the Reichsheer era.

Generalmajor Albert Most

Post by Stauffenberg II » 13 May 2012 10:53

Generalmajor Albert Most:
GM 01.10.1938 (9)
20.07.1884 - 28.12.1938
Last Rank: Landwehrkommandeur Heilbronn

Ernst Wendland (20.07.1879-23.05.1935) is correctly written above, not Wendlandt. I have him Gen. Lt. Char. 01.11.1930. So this is the date of his retirement.

Thanks Stauffenberg...It was tough trying to find anything on Most.

The only additional information I can add for Remberg is the date of rank for generalmajor which was 1.3.1924 (2) which is not much to go by.

I don't know of any "Remberg". There is Konstantin Rembe who retired as Char. GM in 1923, and the GM from 01.03.1924 (2) may have been Eduard Freiherr von Rotberg.

In reference to the request above and my query from the less frequented "Imperial Germany" forum, I ask for info about the last assigments and retirement dates of the following officers:

Hans Mohs (1870-1940)
GM 01.01.1923
Char. GL ???
Heeresfriedenskommission
retired ???

Hugo von Sommerfeld und Falkenhayn (1868-1956)
GM 01.02.1927 (1)
last assignment ??? (was a Pionier officer)
retired ???

Hans Reichard (1872-1936)
GM 01.02.1931 (6)
last assignment ???
retired ???

Erich Soldan (1881-1944)
GM 01.10.1932 (9)
last assignment ???
retired ???

Here are two confirmed retirement dates taken from the Militärwochenblatt (MWB)

Sommerfeld 31.01.28 im St. d. Gru. Kdos. 2 (MWB 1928 Nr. 28, p. 1065)
Reichard 31.03.31 im St. d. Gru. Kdos. 1 (MWB 1931 Nr. 36, p. 1416)

Soldan's last assignment to be found in the 1932 Rangliste was "Leiter d. Beschaffungswesens b. Heereswaffenamt" The 1933 Rangliste shows him as having retired. As I have not yet completed my index of the MWB for 1932 and 1933, I can not offer his confirmed retirement date.

Thank you very much! Mohs is not mentioned in the MWB? It is amazing how difficult it is to find info about the Friko generals!

Hi,

I just saw this older post. In the NOV. 10, 1938 Stellenbesetzung (rank list) Müller is not listed. So if he was activated the 15.10.1938 activation date in Heer is not correct, or he was activated in Luftwaffe instead of Heer, otherwise he would have been listed in the Heer rank list.

Neither is Müller listed in the 1940, 1941 and 1942 DAL, and Hildebrand doesn't list him as a Luftwaffe officer. Unithistories.com lists him as GL z.V., although 15.10.1938 seems a bit early for z.V. officers.

In response to the request made by trbooks here, I will post some info on a number of Heer generals, based on the Stellenbesetzungen and Ranglisten / Dienstalterslisten.
