I am interested in early biographical information of Heer Hauptman KLAUS RITTER, born in Kassel on 18 September 1918. I am particularly interested in his prewar academic record and whether he spoke fluently any foreign languages when he entered the Wehrmacht in 1938 or when he entered duty with Gehlen's Fremde Heere Ost organization in 1942. I believe he is the same KLAUS RITTER who won the Ritterkreuz on 28 October 1944 for combat service with the 23rd Infantry Division in the Baltic area.
He later became head of political analysis for the postwar Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) and a leading international affairs scholar. He may still be alive; I am not sure.
Thanks for any help provided.

Re: Hptm Klaus Ritter
Thank you Dieter, I had seen this but it lacks the detail I seek on his language skills at the time of his WW II military service. He worked on issues related to the Soviet Union at Fremde Heere Ost, so one might assume a familiarity with Russian, but I have no evidence to support this.
