Thanks again, but I can't believe the Boltenstern number is correct. He was way senior to nearly all officers promoted mit RDA from the same date.

Lauchert fits.

Warrelmann sounds again doubtful. Giese was the (19), and if Warrelmann was the (26), the slots from (20) to (25) would be missing. On top of this, Niemack, Behr and Giese were junior to Warrelmann.

Bärenfänger surely would be at the end of his batch, but if he was the (30) and Ueberschär the (25), who were the officers (26) to (29)?

Oberst Zorn was KIA in Feb. 1945. As the 01.02.1945 promo date was not used, did he get promoted to GM retroactively 30.01.1945?

Could anybody provide a list for the promotion of Generalmajore with 30.1.1945?

I wonder if there were quite a lot of former Austrians on this list.

Santiago,

may I extend the topic to the Gen. Lt. without known seniority number? I am particularly interested in the following General officers with seniority date 01.03.1945-01.05.1945:

Feyerabend Gerhard
Foertsch Friedrich
Haehnle Hermann
Hauser Wolfgang
Meltzer Rudolf
Radowitz von Josef
Raegener Adolf
Thomale Wolfgang

01.04.1945
Blaurock Edmund
Heucke Werner
Keil Rudolf

20.04.1945
Brücker Otto-Hermann
Burmeister Arnold
Hartmann Dipl. Ing. Wilhelm
Hemmann Alfred [Pr. P.]
Hölter Hermann
Holste Rudolf
Jank Karl
Marcks Werner
Müller von Dietrich
Picker Egbert
Reichelt Paul
Ranck Werner
Ruff Siegfried
Staedke Helmut
Tschudi von Rudolf [Pr. P.]
Wentzell Friedrich

01.05.1945
Reichert Rudolf
Thunert Eberhard

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
Jürgen

You do not mention the GL promotions with RDA from 16.03.1945:
Walter Aßmann
Franz Geiger
Eugen König
Hans Mikosch
Oldwig von Natzmer
Fritz Polack
Josef Rintelen
Paul Schricker
Eugen Wurster

I don't know where Santiago takes his info from. As for me, I have never seen an original document that gives any seniority numbers for promotions after 30.01.1945. There must have been quite a few promotions ohne RDA, and some of the alleged promotions probably never happened but were claimed by the officers after the war. As 01.05.1945 was no official promotion date, there cannot have been official seniority numbers for that date. Nearly all promotions after 30.01.1945 were bevorzugt. There are only three officers who are said to have been promoted after that date who were "entitled" to become a GL because of their RDA (standen zur Beförderung heran), so if they really were promoted, they must have been the first of their batches:

01.03.1945 Rudolf Meltzer (1?)
01.04.1945 Rudolf Keil (1?)
20.04.1945 Hermann Winkler (1?)

@ askropp: thank you very much, very helpful.

I suppose there were Luftwaffe promotions too with 30.1.1945. Would exist a list here too?

Another interesting theory, but ... how could Vormann and Manteuffel have been the (1) when all other officers promoted from the same dates (1 June and 1 September 1944) were senior to them?
