Another interesting question is whether he retained the appointment as Befelshaber Wehrkreis I on the formation of AOK 3.

char. Generalmajor Oskar von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg is shown by Keilig as mdWdGb Wehrkreis I and as Vertreter in Die Generale des Heeres.

Also the appointments list that announces his appointment as OB AOK 18 states: "General der Artillerie von Küchler, OB Grenz.Absch.Nord und Befehlshaber i. Wehrkreis I ist mit dem 5. Nov. 1939, z. OB 18. Armee ernannt".

Again, the Dienstlaufbahn is of no help.

Thank you for your replies.

Apart from the Dienstlaufbahn, are there any other documents that could give some indication when Küchler's role as Inspector of War Schools ceased?

Was it 02.10.1936 when he was appointed Deputy President of the Reich War Court or on 01.04.1937 when made Commanding General of I. Armee-Korps? 01.04.1937 would probably make more sense but if it can be confirmed that would be great.

Thanks

Hi friends.

Although Metapedia is not a 100% reliable source, sometimes it provides useful info. According to Metapedia-German version, Georg von Küchler received the Grand Cross of the Italian Crown Order on 27 August, 1940. I guess that for his role on the Battle of France. Can someone corroborate this information?

Thanks.

Hi, I've been trying deciphering the Personalakte and almost everything is ok. With exceptions: 5.1.1915 + I don't see Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes which is listed in ABR. Thanks

Hello Shakar. What foreign decorations is certain that he received?
