Generalleutnant Karl Edelmann (1891-1971)

Hello
Keilig, Wegmann, and Internet read that he became on 10.04.45 Kdr. of the 153. ID. But 2 different Karten of the Stab of this Division read that Winkler only (no mention of Edelmann) commanded this division till end. In fact both Karten read that Winkler was promoted to Gen.Lt. on 20.04 still as Kdr. of this division. So, what about Edelmann ? Wrong data (maybe other Div.Nr. ?) or „zwar ernannt aber nicht (oder später ?) übernommen“ ? Has somebody his Personalakte or official documents clarifying this ?
Thanks, Rossano

Edelmann was "kommandiert zur HGr Süd zur Einarbeitung als Divisionskommandeur an Kampffront". There is no indication which division it was.

There are times in history when staying neutral means taking sides.
