I want to ask here:
While researching the Awards of Admirals I came across some odd info on the geocities site.

Generaladmiral Rolf Carls awards:
Großkreuz des Kgl. Italien. Ordens der Krone: 00.00.1938
Großkreuz des Italienischen Ordens der Krone: 11.03.1941

These two are the same award (both are Großkreuz)? Is it a mistake? Should the first award be the Großoffizierskreuz?

Admiral Hubert Schmundt awards:
Großkreuz des Kgl. Spanischen Marineverdienstkreuzes in Weiß: 21.08.1939
Großkreuz des Kgl. Spanischen Marineverdienstordens: 19.01.1940

How can it be a Großkreuz of the MarineverdienstKREUZES? Should the first one be the Kreuz des Kgl. Spanischen Marineverdienstordens in Weiß? And then the second one Großkreuz?

Please someone explain if possible. Thanks.

The decoration was officially called the Orden del Mérito Naval, but often referred to as the Cruz del Mérito Naval. Since 1995, that is its official name. The official abbreviation in Prussian and Imperial navy rank lists was "SMK" for Spanisches MarineverdienstKreuz.

In Schmundt's case, the 1939 date was probably the Spanish award date, and the 1940 date was the German approval date.

Is this an Italienisch Tapferkeitsmedaille in Bronze (or Silver)? The officer is Rolf Johannesson.
I found info about it posted in 2013 here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=153613&p=1767179&hilit=Rolf+Johannesson#p1767179
Thanks.

Admiral Otto Backenköhler
Any idea if the last ribbon could be the Sudetenland Medal?
Thanks.

Admiral Paul Fanger
Could the breast badge be the Grosskreuz des Kgl. Ungar. Verdienstordens?
And what is around his neck? Also a Hungarian award?
Thanks.
