The rolls where the name "Müller" can be found were badly microfilmed and hard to read. For many, I only have handwritten notes with few details.

How many 1.9.43 Oberste Müller were there? Hans has in his list a Herbert Müller from IR 53, but he was born after 1900 so I do not have anything on him. Bolko Müller-Kranefeldt was also an Oberst on 01.09.43, but I assume he is listed with the hyphenated name and his Friedendienststelle was WEI Oppeln. The only other one I have is:

Müller, Julius Fritz Theodor
*19.06.1897 in Neubrandenburg, Mecklenburg-Strelitz

09.02.1915 in das Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 2 eingetreten
07.04.1916 Leutnant
15.05.1920 verabschiedet
01.07.1934 Hauptmann
01.02.1939 Major
01.02.1942 Oberstleutnant
01.09.1943 Oberst

11.07.1916 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse
24.07.1918 Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse
02.08.1916 Mecklenburg-Strelitzsches Kreuz für Auszeichnung im Kriege
28.09.1918 Mecklenburg-Strelitzsches Kreuz 1. Klasse für Auszeichnung im Kriege
20.07.1918 Verwundetenabzeichen in mattweiß
30.12.1934 Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer
02.10.1936 Wehrmacht (Heer) Dienstauszeichnung 4. Klasse
01.08.1940 1939 Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse

Too bad for Klein, but thanks for Müller Julius.
By the way,is Your Julius the Müller who was Ob. 1.9.43"(9)"(from IR.89) or is he still another one ?
Also, can You pls. add his Dienstlaufbahn 8.39-5.45 (above it is missing...)
Best Rgds., Rossano

As I said, the files were badly filmed and hard to read, so that is all the information I was able to copy down. I don't have the Fr.Tr.Teil or the Ordn.Nr. That is why I asked if you knew how many Müllers there were that were promoted to Oberst on that day.

Sorry, I misunderstood that. If I had his Dienstlaufbahn I could tell You whether Your Julius is the Müller I´m looking for.
(my Müller was with GR 267 and 276, Your Julius too ???)

P.S.: it' s him !! I just checked his promotions dates (to Maj., to Otl., to Ob.) and all match (from IR 89) with those of Your Julius. So well done Dave, and many thanks !!
In the meantime I have once again 3 more Oberste. I hope You can help me here too :
1) Ob. 1.1.43 Garbsch. Hans has Walter (but his Karteikarte has Walther), Walter correct ?
2) Ob. 1.7.42 Garbsch. Here I have Walter too (or/and Walter-Heinrich). What is correct ?
3) Ob. z.V. Holetz, first name ?
Many thanks, Rossano

Oberst (1.1.43) is Walther Hugo Julius Garbsch, *6.7.1897 in Hennen, Iserlohn.

Oberst (1.7.42) is Walter-Heinrich Paul Hermann Martin Garbsch, *2.10.1892 in Charlottenburg.

Holetz was a z.V. officer, so he would not have a personnel file in the archive collection. The name indicates he is from Austria-Hungary. There is only one Holetz in the 1917 k.u.k. Militär-Schematismus: Gottfried Holetz, 1.8.14 Hauptmann in the Eisenbahnregiment. That is probably him, although the image below from a Google Books snippet of the Inventar des Kriegsarchivs Wien lists him as an Oberstleutnant (maybe his highest Bundesheer rank?).

Hi Dave
I am studying intensively some Personalveränderungen and I find many officers without first names. At the moment I am focusing my interest on the Obersten, and just now I have 3 more. Do You have them ?
1) Ob. z.V. Braune Stalags-Kdt. First name ? Dienstlaufbahn available ?
2) Ob. Kastel Stalags-Kdt. First name ? Dienstlaufbahn available ?
3) Ob. Kühn (from Fz.Kdo. IX) Stalags-Kdt. First name ? Dienstlaufbahn available ?
Many thanks in advance for all, Rossano
