Hello Forum.
I wonder if any of you can help to get information about Oberstleutnant König who was the Kommandeur of the Gren.Rgt. 15 during the end of 1942 and at least January 1943.

Best regards.

I think his Vorname is given as Rolf on the Hans list, but I found none in the Volksbund database. Either wrong name, or he survived.

„Invenio“ (from Bundesarchiv) lists an Oberst Rolf König, born 20.08.1898.

I checked my docs. and like I said I believe Rolf (by Hans, and now by Invenio) is wrong.
I have 3 official sources (AOK list, Div. list, and DKiG. list), all reading "Rudolf" !

His Geburtsurkunde [Geburtsregister des Standesamtes Speyer Nr. 478/1898] uses the name „Rudolf“, so officially, that is his first name.

But, it seems that he also used „Rolf“, as shown from his Meldekartei from Deggendorf.

I also have to add

Vater: Eduard König, Oberregierungsrat
Mutter: Elisabeth, geb. Bauer

20.10.1922 Heirat in Dortmund mit Dora, geb. Franzius; 2 Töchter, 1 Sohn

Hello forum.
Thank you very much for your help.

Now I can confirm that he won the DKiG on 28-1-43 as Oberstleutnant and Kdr. of the Gren.Rgt. 15.
Source: File from the Bundesarchiv

He is a new winner of the DKiG. He is not shown in Patzwall / Scherzer.
I will add him in tracesofwar.com database in the next days.

Besides I got yesterday the next information from Mr. Jason D. Mark: his name was Rolf, his rank as Oberstleutnant [RDA 1.4.42 (258)]. Born 20 August 1898 in München. Captured at Stalingrad as Kdr. Inf.Rgt.15 on 31.01.1943, but König in fact survived captivity, returned home and died 30 July 1972 in München.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Jordi
I got the impression that You didn´t read mine and Jake´s info above stating that his official name was "Rudolf". I don´t know why he was also (wrongly) mentioned as Rolf.....
Also, I mentioned him above being present in the DKiG list (as "Rudolf" too), so he is no new entry(winner). Probably Patzwall/Scherzer simply forgot to include him in their list…..

You can add Krone v. Rumänien, III.Kl. m. Schw. am B. on 9.8.1941 as IIa of 11.AOK.
