Does anyone know the name of this Leutnant? pilot and the particulars of him being shot down? The photo was taken in the sector of Kampfgruppe von Luck (21. Panzer-Division) at the beginning of the Normandy invasion, possibly 6.6.44 or 7.6.44. The photo was supposedly taken in the Troarn-Cuverville area. It is BA 493/33365/16 but I could find nothing about it on the Bundesarchiv website.

No, I'm not sure. I just copied the number given in the book but it does look too short to be the correct number.

Judging by the photos I could find on the BA website which have a similar number, the correct number is BA 101I-493-3365-11. There is another photo of him (BA 101I-493-3365-9) that I did not post.
