Dear all,

I understand that on the 1st of December 1941, a total of seven individuals in the 72. Infanterie-Division received the Deutsches Kreuz im Gold. These seven were the first of the division to be awarded with the decoration; the individuals were as follows according to the information available on Axis History:

Abbel, Heinrich, 01.12.1941, Oberleutnant d.R., 10./Inf.Rgt. 124
Jakob, Friedrich, 01.12.1941, Hauptmann, II./Inf.Rgt. 105
Kamecke, Hans, 01.12.1941, Generalmajor, Kdr. Inf.Rgt. 124 [promoted to Genmaj on 01.11.1941]
Oppermann, Heinz, 01.12.1941, Leutnant d.R., 3./Pi.Btl. 72
Schweckendiek, Ernst, 01.12.1941, Oberfeldwebel, 3./Inf.Rgt. 105
Senkbeil, Heinz, 01.12.1941, Stabsfeldwebel, 10./Inf.Rgt. 266
Weinacker, Fritz, 01.12.1941, Oberfeldwebel, 5./Inf.Rgt. 266

Given the award was instituted at the end of September 1941, I would assume that all of these early awards were originally Ritterkreuz-vorschlags where the soldier received the DKiG instead. Could anyone please help me with the following;

At this early stage of the war, would all of the recipients of the division be gathered and awarded at the same ceremony?

Does any photos exist from that occasion?

Could anyone help me with retrieving the vorschlags for the award?

Sincerely,
Lars
