Militär-Intendantur-Diätar

Post by hughiec » 07 Oct 2019, 11:30

Hello
Can anyone translate "Militär-Intendantur-Diätar" for me? It seems to be a junior rank, held by the future Generaloberstabsintendant Richard Plagemann from April 1918 (according to ABR).
Many thanks

Dieters were officials who were only temporarily employed and paid outside the budget. The name was especially common in the Kingdom of Prussia. The dieters received their salary monthly, rarely on a daily basis. They were not entitled to housing allowance, removal costs and similar benefits. The service contract could be terminated at any time. Railroaders and teachers often began their careers as dieters. In the education system of the Federal Republic of Germany they corresponded in terms of employment law, for example, to the "employed" for assessors z. A.

Dieter, I hope very sincerely that YOU were properly employed and always fully paid by the Bundesrepublik! :milwink:
