Re: Oberst Friedrich Meyer Annecy
According the issue 150 of After the battle dedicated to the resistance in Haute-Savoie his full name is Friedrich Meyer.
After some hesitation — as his orders were to put up a fight — Oberst Friedrich Meyer, the commander of Verbindungsstab 988, agreed to send two of his close subordinates, Hauptmann Leopold Sedlazcek and Major Walter Eggers, to parley with the French and early next day, they arrived at Chavoires in a car flying a white flag (left). (Archives Départementales)
Could it be this one from Offizierliste 1939
Hauptmann (E) 01.05.34 MEYER Friedrich (Fritz) (Stab Nebel Lehr u.Vers.Abt.) Oberst (01.01.43)

Re: Oberst Meyer Annecy
Just found mention in a book upon Basses-Alpes in war, that a "Major" Meyer was replaced by GM Hans-Georg Schuberth as Kdt Verbindungsstab 792.
Another source upon resistants shoted mention a report signed by "commandant allemand Meyer 1er avril 1944".
So the mention "commandant allemand" could refer to "Kommandant" not "Major".
Could it be him ?
thanks
