indecipherable signatures

#1

Post by Rossano » 16 Jul 2022, 10:43

Hello
In the last years I' ve been collecting many indecipherable signatures of german Heeres-Offiziere. Now I want to open here this topic for various reasons (first because here i usually post all my questions regarding Heeres-Offiziere, then because here I know + invite Askropp, Dave and all other pen friends + signatures experts to help/cooperate)
To begin with I attach below the first signature (which Graf is it ?)
In particular, what is the first capital letter ?
Then are the 3rd and fifth letters "h" or/and "g" or "f" or what ? Finally, is the line as 4th letter a "c" or "e" or what ?
Thanks in advance to all participants

As I already said, it is important to know which document they signed and in which function. The signature alone will be difficult to identify.

I am now adding the requested info, but as I believe that such info will bring to no positive solution, I rather hope that somebody will be able to simply identify at least some letters, as I asked to, so that I can then maybe get the proper name.
So, this Graf was 3.44 a Maj. and Lehrgr.Kdr. at the Fjk.Lehrg. IV d. Pz.Tr..
Does somebody have/know who is this officer in this position or can rather suggest his name by his signature ?

I checked all Grafen in the 1944 DAL, but I found no candidate. I would expect an active officer in this position, but maybe he wasn't.

What about this one ?
Who led (Otl. ? ) in febr. 43 the remnants of the 385.ID ?
If he/this is not known, which name do You read in the signature ?
Thanks for the name or suggestion

Hi Rossano,

First let me say: I hate signatures, if it´s not clearly signed, it´s almost a pure guess.
Besides, your topic says "indecipherable signatures". :milwink:

If I shall take a guess, I would say:

#10: first one "Samer"" The second one...?

#11: Hauptmann Wendt. The second one....? the third one starts with An....lans?

#12: Kdr. Pi.Btl 217 Wiest?

Hope this helps a little bit.

Best Regards
Armin

So, what else can this name be ? Or, who has/knows the Kdr. AA.217 in june 40 ?
