http://worldzone.net/politics/goering/goering.htm

In this photo it shows Goering with his Great Cross of the Iron Cross, Blue max and a Knights Cross. Was he also awarded oak leaves and maybe swords? I didn't notice him listed as a winner for Diamonds, Oak Leaves and Swords on Marcuses site so I wonder what that is?

Goering was awarded the Grand Cross in July 1940, when only four grades of the EK existed: 2nd class, 1st class, RK and GK.

At the time Göring was awarded the Grand Cross (01.09.1939) there was only the EK II and EK I (01.09.1939), the Knight´s Cross (01.09.1939) and the Knight´s Cross with Oak Leaf (since 03.06.1940) ranking below.

The swords and the diamonds were instituted later (28.09.1941). The Golden Oak Leaf was instituted on 29.12.1944.

So it´s strange that he didn´t receive the Oak Leaf but the other awards he couldn´t get at all.

But he obviously fulfilled the criteria mentioned in Article 3 of the law (01.09.1939) regarding the Grand Cross:
"Die Verleihung des Grosskreuzes behalte ich mir vor für überragende Taten, die den Verlauf der Kampfhandlungen entscheidend beeinflussen."
