Hello,

05.01.1942 Deutscher Standortoffizier Bizerta

There weren't any German officers of that rank in Benzart (Bizerte, Bizerta) at that time. The city and its vicinity with all garrisoned units were under Vice-Amiral (Rear Admiral upper half) Edmond-Louis DERRIEN.

In my notes: Oberst Gebhard BORCHERDT, Standortkommandant Bizerta 15.11.1942 - 21.11.1942 (succeeded by Oberst Max ROTH) then briefly Standortkommandant Tunis 20.02.1943 - 12.03.1943.

He was born in Torgau

13.06.1914 eingetreten.
22.03.1915 Leutnant, vorläufig ohne Patent

In World War I, he served in Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 5 and Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 331.

According to my notes from his HPA file, he was taken prisoner by the Americans, not the British.

His Karteikarte says so, but I changed it because Mateusz said he was in Tunis later, and he ended up in Trent Park. I'm not sure whether the HPA clerks knew who captured him. The card also says 11 May, and that's too late for Bizerta.
