The same photograph is in Jost W. Schneider's "Their Honor was Loyalty! - An Illustrated and Documentary History of the Knight's Cross holders of the Waffen-SS and Police 1940-1945" (2nd ed. 1993), and he identifies the RKT as Gerd Pleiss.

I think the Eichenlaubträger in the middle is Josef Schreiber. Could the others be Erich Fischer and Ernst Jedele?

I saw it on Ebay once, together with other photos, there it was stated that it was Peter Kiesgen. Most of the photos were of the DKiG-holder who is standing beside him.

Hello Daniel!

If you are commenting the photo that I just posted, then which DKiG holder? I can't see one...

Are you really sure Daniel? You can, very vaguely, see something on his left breast pocket but shouldn't this Spieß at least be sporting some Iron Crosses, 1st and 2nd Class in that case? Maybe some other decorations? After all, the DKiG was a prestigeous award and this Man ought to have other "lesser" decorations as well?

Just some thoughts,

Krollspell
