Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Thanks you both, I am totally convinced as well. Of course it must be "Wumm" Schnell!

Could the 2nd KC beside Otto Weiß be Helmut Weinreich?

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hi Gunter,
next to Model is later RKT Clemens Betzel. And since the second unknown officer also accompanies Betzel in the next image, I suppose he must be his adjudant?

Hugo.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Page 1466 Unbekannt LW 5.1 - 5.3. should be most likely Wilhelm Spiess. Could anyone confirm that? Due to a bit of research I found some hints: The Cuff title "Geschwader Horst Wessel" (ZG 26), rank and year, the Flying clasp, physiognomy and last but not least the on the reverse mentioned town of Kitzingen is very close to his birth place Rimpar in Lower Franconia near Wuerzburg.

On the back it says:
Reißinger, Kaether, Volckers & Stoffleth
A shame that the decorations have been smudged.
