Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
On P 205, you mention that unk.3 and unk.4 on page 16 have not been identified.
To the best of my knowledge, unk.3 was identified as Albert Kunz and unk. 4, if not previously identified is Josef Grassmann.
On P 19, under SG 77 rkt1.jpg is Helmut Bode, if this has not been identified previously.
Hope this helps.
Terry

Hello, All,
On P 102 listed as unknown kc2.jpg is the photograph of Jakob Zimmermann, KC awarded on 31.7.43.
Hope this helps. To my knowledge this was never identified.
Take care.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hi Terry,
like I have already listed on the index all your previous ids up to page 104, I've done it now for the last ones you provided above. Thanks a lot !
Josef Graßmann wasn't id'ed up to p 104 and therefore never I think. Albert Kuntz, Pz.AA 2 - Yes, of course - he appears another time in the thread but I couldn't draw the conlcusion. Right now I can't refind the page, but next surely.
And - the evaluation and listing did bring up other additions to the index :
Robert Freiherr von Prochazka correct id , pretty sure
Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow
Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow (go down a bit)
has to be him ! or any objections ?
So, 4 down today from the "not identified" list
regards, Bernd

At least not "just in time". As there are two Jakob Zimmermann, the one of Pz.Gren.Rgt. 10 obviously. Never seen a pic of him, nothing in my database.
He is part of the first "Dieter Zinke - Biblio-collection/id request" series.
If I'm correct, of those only KC4.jpg is not yet identified :

Terry,
in case you missed this ; my id for this one posted by Fangio is Gefreiter Hans Baindner, Jäg.Rgt. 228
This one or a similar one was sent out as an autograph, too, if I recall correctly. And you most probably own other photos to compare.
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Fangio and others,
On P 142, there is a pic of a general in a Schwimmwagen with a Kuban crest on the front. He was identified as Karl Allmendinger. It may have been, to the best of my recollection, that someone else may have suggested that this is a photo of Generalmajor Karl Britzelmayr. After looking at photos of Allmendinger and Britzelmayr, I really think that this is a pic of General Britzelmayr. For one thing, Allmendinger did not wear glasses, and the officer in the vehicle does. Facial features are consistent with those of General Britzelmayr.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hello, Fangio,
That officer looks like General der Fallschirmtruppen Alfred Schlemm.
Hope this helps.
