Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
2jpg. on page 63 is Eugen Ritter von Schobert. No doubt about that one. It was not captioned and there seemed to be some hesitation to positively id him. But it is von Schobert.
Take care, and hope this helps.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Good morning Dieter ! very happy about our first "meeting" btw
you are pushing in a small wound of id history I think.
The man was identified and I'm (nearly) sure he is Erich Löwe.
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 20#p519020
One small additional argument supporting this : he was still Hptm. in summer 1941 (promoted to Major on 1 Apr 1942).
There was unsureness about another pic which appears to be showing really the same man.
pz 6 pzdiv.jpg
I haven't re-asked this case yet. Elwyn was on the trace the man on page 45 could be Richard Laukat, Kdr. II./AR 103.
Maybe we can get clearness about those two now.
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
@Terry,
thanks for confirmation of Ritter von Schobert. Not yet captioned because I was waiting for an eventually positive id of Otto Hartmann. Bit of economy in a 200pp thread.
@LRRPS,
you surely mean the "nafa83.jpg" (?). http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 57#p810557
hm, could be. Other opinions ?
For comparisn (I don't think all those (4) pics show the same man).
with Scherer (this should be 100% Biecker) : http://www.ww2incolor.com/german/UBiB_2 ... ecker.html
said to be Biecker ; award ceremony without steel helmet ?
http://www.ritterkreuztraeger-1939-45.d ... Albert.htm
and one from my files (said to be Biecker once in mil321.com)

Kurt,
if you have a name or an idea for the name you can also check the index on p. 1 of this thread. Herbert Berger is already listed with that very Getty image

Hello Bernd
Thanks for the advice
I am new to this - so any help and advice are welcome.
You will see that most of my posts here on AHF is in the Fortification topic - but sometimes a name or a picture turns up in that connection.
Regards
Kurt
