Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
I will definitely confirm "Otto Maurer (maybe)" as being that of Otto Maurer. I have the same pic in my collection.
Hope this helps.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, again, Bernd,
Page 213, listing of RKT GD Fw3.jpg, I can confirm as that being a depiction of Sanitäter Franz Schmitz.
I am still working on the two, I had trouble identifying. So please do not give up on me.
Take care, and hope all is well with you.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Thanks a lot Terry ! I've done the latest.
No hurry at all. I once thought it might be possible to finish the index until the end of the year but it is too much for a few quick shots I think. So, it will get January. Quite useful and interesting expansion will be the other id threads in the forum outside this one which I plan to link on the index. Then it's Easter again I guess.
Best regards
Bernd

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Is it possible to identify this RKT+unit, location is Kurland in may 1945.

Jürgen Gauß, KC: 28.03.1945, Hauptmann, Führer einer Kampfgruppe der 12. Panzer-Division / AHF id
Still open for discussion are the 4.. turret numbers [visible on entire photo series], maybe the II./PR 29 was inofficially renamed I./PR 29 because the I. Abteilung obviously was not about to return to the Division !?

Hello, Bernd,
On Page 21 listed as 49jpg, you ask for an id. That is a pic of Hermann-Albert Schrader, I.R. 16.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, again, Bernd,
On page 35, there are three pix of two naval officers listed under unk. rkt (44, 45, 46) jpg. respectively. I am not sure who is on the right, but the officer on the left is Alfred Vetter. No doubt about that.
On page 83, there is a series of 6 KC holders. Listed under unk. 6 is a pic of Wilhelm Kern.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, again, Bernd,
I do not know if this was identified, however, on page 104 listed under pict0329.jpg is a pic of General Georg Wilhelm Postel.
P. 107, the same pic of Wilhelm Kern is shown.
P. 134-not a positive id, as far as I can tell, but it was hinted at. Under U178yn9.jpg is a photo of submarine commandant Wilhelm Dommes.
Also on Page 134 is a series of 4 pix connected displayed in increments of two each. The top right officer in the first pair is a picture of Karl-Heinz Wiebe.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
