Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Chris44
The photo on page 56 unk.rkt seems to show an officer, but as far as I know Unfried's highest rank was Sergeant.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Before going to add the newest - fantastic progress btw.
- here's a last supplement of 2nd round review. Was the Axel/Diedrich Bruns case, but think its solved, see below. Case/story expands through pages 70,71,78.
of note : christian name indeed spelled Diedrich, see German Cross in Gold document.
The man on page 71 (from rk.de) is in fact Dr. Axel Bruns from Art.Rgt. 241 ; last rank Hptm. d.R.
See autograph attached, from a personal collection.
Thanks and regards
Bernd

The man shown on page 70 is indeed OTL d.R. Diedrich Bruns, IR 16 / 22. ID ; see detailed Bio with a number of pics on the excellent 22. ID website http://www.historic.de/Militar/Personen/Bruns/Bruns.htmDiedrich Bruns, IR 16
not Axel Bruns, but Dietrich, too ? , and further comments/statements on page 78

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hi horatio2,
try again and post it again. I suggest you the following : upsize the photo with any photo software you have and store it on your pc as usual. Go to the test section of the forum. Attach it - don't click "submit", do "preview" first (so you see what will appear, I do this always btw.). Come back here and make a new post.
Best regards
Bernd
