This foto dated in Bundesarchiv as 21.06.43. Course the quallity is trouble, but i mean that hi is from "Das Reich"?
May be enebody has other versions?

Alexspb , I think the man who's face is visible next to the head of Bittrich is Franz Hack.

the RKT on the right side is Wilhelm Massa.

the second from left is as well Wilhelm Massa
and the next behind Massa is Johannes Göhler (a very few visible from his head unfort)

On the KC of Franz SCHMITZ..
I have his actual AWARD document of the "action" he was in to be awarded the KC., along with his KC - one he actually wore with his friends after the War... I got it from a neighbor of his in Germany. Along with other items of his and another KC winner... Just lucky I guess... Franz was quite a guy --and a Soldier to be proud of - for any Country. Anyone liking a copy - shoot me a Private Message please-- and I'll email you one... top
