Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
All done, Thumm, RK ceremony, on the confirmation list.
Here is the 2nd round review for the pages 211 - 240 :
Added to the index :
Walther Risse and Adolf Strauß. Ids by Gregg. Not yet found the original request, but a reference now anyway.
Added to the No Id list : (possibly a double request)
page 234 : be58_1
The second pic added to the group section : allows a confirmation of Hptm. Hauptmann, too, perhaps
5. Pz.Div. , RKT March 1943 , ceremony : Gerhard Niemeck - Hans Hauptmann, Kradschtz.Btl. 55 [to be confirmed 100%] - Heinrich Becker
other view on 5. PD photo above : Gerhard Niemeck - Hans Hauptmann - Heinrich Becker
Two requests repeated here :
confirmation list : Johann Straub, Pz.Jg.Abt. 7
page 215 : Hauptmann_StG5.jpg
No id ; with the discussion on pp. 215,216 ; Blasig, Pape, ??

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
One "case" only - Schneckenburger - but should be solved and clarified.
See the argumentation by miocid on page 218.
Best regards
Bernd
The small "bsb" photo (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Heinrich Hoffmann collection) is Rudolf Konrad !?
See the argumentation by miocid on page 218.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Ruslan, thanks, corrected !
I have handled another old story finally. Crossed out from the confirmation list - photo on page 56 - and placed on the index the better quality BA photo on page 226 :
"GD" festive hour [Einrücken Kriegsfreiwilliger] on a market place, with : Hans Sachs - Heinz Maaz
This was almost 100%, there was no objection. It is Maaz after all.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Here is the 2nd round review for the pages 241 - current page.
One id just re-asked : page 241 : Marine.jpg - Guggenberger ?
Two re-asked for confirmation / objections :
Gerhard Walther, Kdr II./SG 4
Kurt Ubben - Kurt Pflugbeil
There are two open cases with different ids / opinions :
page 262 : Bild 133.jpg - Hans Bayer ?
my objection was :
One id not 100 % ; I would agree this is Dr. Karl Mauss ; confirmations list or someone says IS ?
page 287 : PIC_2_656_jpg
Best regards
Bernd

Very late award for this Staffelkapitän 3.(F)/33 -> 01.05.1945 , in action during late war period over Hungary. Last rank Hauptmann - but the pic shows a Major ! (if I'm correct).

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hi chris44,
is this caption allright ? (asking this also in order to have accuracy in other RKT compilations)
Karl Rihsle / AHF id ; name spelling according to the info by his son and the grave stone inscription (name erroneously appears as Riesle in wartime documents/files)
[name info taken from rk.de] The original Austrian name was Rihsle, whereas the version Riesle often used/seen was a mistake by the administrations and clerks ?
regards
Bernd
