Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
It's actually Hauptmann ALBERT SCHROEDER from 3./Heeres-Flak-Artillerie-Abteilung 287 who received RK in 9 December 1944...

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Hello, Bernd,
Regarding the discussion concerning Page 341 which depicts three generals, two of which are positively identified as General der Infanterie Erich Abraham, with the one on the left to be positively id'd.
The officer on the left is Generalleutnant Walter Risse.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
Terry

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
While on page 184 I stumbled upon another "double".
Hans Krohn (again), previously id'ed by Denis. The page 171 pic is on the index already.

Not sure who the guy is thats getting the knights cross but the guy putting it on him is Oberstleutnant Georg Dörffel.

Georg Dörffel was Kommodore SG 4 in Italy at that time. Krohn all through his career was with Stuka-Geschw. 2, resp. SG 2 "Immelmann".
The presenting officer should be Karl Kennel. If this is a Major and the Gruppenkommandeur II. / StukaG 2 (which seems the most likely situation, as Krohn was with 6. Staffel , Bordfunker of Jungclaussen), it has to be him. Very much looks like him, too, IMO.

Here is the summary of the recent steps and results.
Solved :
page 259 : Gerhard Drechsler
page 341 : Walther Risse - Erich Abraham , Albrecht Schubert
Suggested :
page 175 : 2.jpg - Alois Weber ? , 1.jpg
page 336 : A 1 Lw13.jpg - Werner Schmidt, KG 55 ? ; and "A 1 Lw 12.jpg", too, said to be the same man.
