The Luftwaffe general awarding the RK's to SG5 pilots on pp 60 was Kammhuber, Kmdr of Luftflotte 5.

Oberst Joachim Bauer: Born 25.03.1903, died 25.04.1999. He awarded the German Cross in Gold (unknown date 1944) and the Knights Cross (14.5.44) as "Seefliegerführer Schwarzes Meer" (Seaplane-Commander of the Black Sea) under Command of the Luftflotte 4.
I need any information about his career and why he was awarded the KC, and does anyone have a photo of Oberst Bauer?
Can anyone help me?

In the centre on "Nibbe.jpg" is Georg Scholze, commander of the 20th Panzer Grenadier Division in 1945. He was an Oberst until being promoted Generalmajor on 20 Apr 1945.

Thank you very much Hans!
Jörg, try starting a seperate thread instead. This thread is dedicated for identifying Knight's cross holder on photos.

Don't know if he's already been identified (difficult to say in such a long topic), but "UB RKT 2.jpg" [page 58] is general Walter Weiss.

Hans

I was more leaning towards Kurt Schumacher. What do you think about that?

If you read what was written on the back (also included from where you got it from), you would have known that it is Kapitän zur See Rudolf Petersen, the Führer der Schnellboote.

Hello Daniel,
yes Kurt Schumacher is the second I think on, but I´m not sure if he was awarded with the german cross in gold. Do you know this? I have some photos of Paul Senghas and for me your photo looks like him. Perhaps anybody can help us.
