Hello. This is my first time here.

Silver is cut out. The problem is bronze and gold shows up with little difference on b&w pictures.
Oh BTW, Khan's helping me. I'm gonna print all his medals for some purpose. Since I'm looking for a picture of him in temperate uniform, (It's kinda hard, since he usually wear a greatcoat) medals are necessary. I found that he received the following:
German Cross in Gold
Knight's Cross
Close Combat Bar
His name confuses me. Most accepted form is Oberst Hans von Luck, but some says Oberst Baron, and Hans A. von Luck.
oh, btw Marcus, nice site.

The badge on the left would appear to be one of the traditional Deaths Head emblems assigned to the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th & 11th squadrons of the 5th Cavalry Regt. In the Wehrmacht, these were worn by the regimental staff of 2nd and 4th Squadrons of 6th Cavalry Regt. (Which later became part of 7th Pz. Div. via 2nd Liechte which explains why von Luck was wearing it.) and the 3rd Motorcycle Btn., 1st and 2nd Btn. Hq. and 1st, 4th, 13th and 14th Cos. of 17th Inf. Regt. (Ultimately part of 31st Inf. Div.) and also 2nd Abt. and 4th Squadron of 13th Cavalry Regt. (Later part of 5th Pz. Div.).
The tunic appears to be the Tropical Field Service issue, which many of the 600 or so survivors wore in Normandy because of the 21st's role with the DAK. (See German Army Uniforms and Insignia 1933-1945 by Brian L. Davies (Milkitary Book Society/Arms and Armour Press 1971) p169

Panzer Commander by Hans von Luck (Dell Books, 1991)
German Order of Battle, Panzers and Artillery in World War II by George F. Nafziger (Greenhill Books, 1999)
German Order of Battle 1944 edited by I.V. Hogg (Greenhill Books 1994)

Rich
