Hello Jerome.
This officer was awarded the Knights Cross with date of 4.Jul.1940 as Oblt. and company commander of 9./I.R. 423. He also received the German Cross i.Gold with date of 5.Dec.1942 as Maj. and commander of I.G.R. 423. Maj Klotz lost his life in action on 14.Feb. 1944 as commander III./Gr.R. 423. (same regiment , renamed Grenadier Rgt.) south of Luga/Soviet Union.
