RE : Polizei Award Holders [page 94]
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1109550

A number of recipients of the section have been added additionally to the headquarters given.

Not yet determined the subordination of
SS-Pol.Rgt 10 , 23 ; Schtzm.Btl. 57 and especially
SS-Pol.Rgt. 2 : not quite sure if it was all the time with / if all end 44 / 45 awards belong to
Polizei-Kampfgruppe Hannibal (?)

RE : "raw data" [page 105]
Coretti, Julius, 03.01.1944, Oberst, Ost-Rgt.Stb. zbV 752 / DKiG
this Scheibert entry is a bit hm...
Julius Coretti, later Generalmajor, was Kommandeur Osttruppen z.b.V. 700 under command of HGr. Mitte ; in nov 1943 this staff was sent to Northern France (AOK 7) and was renamed Ost-Rgts.Stab z.b.V. 752 in february 1944 . [per Tessin]
Per 06.06.1944 still in the West, with LXXXIV. (84.) AK.

So,
estimated the German Cross in Gold was awarded for action in the East (with Osttruppen 700)
1) renaming was before february 1944 (in fact, Tessin error)
or
2) date should be 03.01.1945 ??
or
3) Scheibert typo (Mike's ABR has "700" btw)
or
4) another variant you never think of ?

RE : Artillerie, Heerestruppen section [page 92]

the following DKiG holder has been added to Fester Platz Wilna [page 56]
Kappel, Wilhelm, 06.08.1944, Oberwachtmeister, le.F.H.Battr. 1067 / GR 1067 / Kgr. Tolsdorff / Fester Platz Wilna
based on the confirmation of the OOB for Gren.Rgt. 1067 (thanks to Martin Block!)
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=139915

another one , added to 180. Inf.Div. / attached , [page 17]
Berzen, August, 18.03.1945, Unteroffizier, Fest.Pak-Kp. 13/X / attached to 180. ID
(KC papers completely prepared for signing at the end of the war but not finished ; accepted by OdR per 09.05.1945 according to so-called "Dönitz-Erlass")

That's the way it could go on to classify the Heerestruppen on page 92 to their respective headquarter units - in a second phase of the project.

The Kommandobehörden sections

OKW/Wehrmacht , Heer - Heeresgruppe down to Korps [page 80]
Luftwaffe [page 82]
Kriegsmarine [page 119]
Waffen-SS [page 82]

should be basically fine, that is an intended coverage without a possible more in-depth distinction within those large commands.
A few text additions to "unofficial KC holders" are still missing (as I've not always the inspiration for the translations).

Shawn,
I just noticed that we need the dates for those DKiS recipients :
Ulmer, Hans, SS-Obersturmbannführer, Korps-Intendant II. SS-Pz.Korps
Unbehaun, Gerd, SS-Oberführer, III.(germ.) SS-Pz.Korps

Bernd,

These were the last of the W-SS DKiG “unknowns” – Fred kindly identified their units:

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 8&t=120054

2. SS-Panzer-Division “Das Reich”
Reuter, Otto, 14.02.1942, SS-Obersturmführer, 5./SS-Rgt. “Deutschland”

8. SS-Kavallerie-Division “Florian Geyer”
Etzler, Gustav, 16.01.1944, SS-Hauptsturmführer, I./SS-Art.Rgt. 8

10. SS-Panzer-Division “Frundsberg”
Pühringer, Alois, 19.08.1944, SS-Obersturmführer, 2./SS-Flak-Abt. 10

Best regards,
Shawn

P.S. Regarding this DKiG holder of the 8. SS-Kavallerie-Division “Florian Geyer:

Goecke, Willi, 27.01.1945, Sturmbannführer, SS-Art.Rgt. 8

Here’s some interesting posts from John P. Moore and Michael Miller that would indicate this award was an administrative error. They believe SS-Sturmbannführer Willi Görcke was the actual recipient of the DKiG in question and not SS-Sturmbannführer Wilhelm Goecke. I too agree with this argument and suggest changing the last name to “Görcke” (all other info in his entry is correct).

Shawn,

thanks, very good catch ! I have evaluated that parallel research thread (all names of the first post there) and re-checked the listings.

RE : "Florian Geyer" [page 13]

added , DKiG
Etzler, Gustav, 16.01.1944, SS-Hauptsturmführer, I./SS-Art.Rgt. 8
updated, DKiG : 61

corrected, with note :
Görcke, Willi, 27.01.1945, SS-Sturmbannführer, SS-Art.Rgt. 8
[research and re-check of the Scheibert entry Stubaf. Goecke resulted in the conclusion that the estimated and in published reference works sometimes repeated award to Stubaf. Wilhelm Goecke was an administrative error. See here with convincing arguments and reference :
John P. Moore : http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=9216
Michael Miller : http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... ke#p998187

RE : "Totenkopf" [page 41]

I noticed incorrect ranks for Gräßler and Hilger (also wrong Kp.) in our previous listing.
Corrected entries per Doktor Krollspell :

Gräßler, Siegfried, 13.05.1943, SS-Hauptsturmführer, 2./SS-Flak-Abt. 3
Hilger, Alfred, 12.08.1942, SS-Rottenführer, 4./SS-T Flak Abt.

If I'm correct it should be without "3" for Hilger in aug 1942 (?).
