Re: Awardholders / unit
Guys, this is kind of overwhelming to me. I am making a huge list of officers and Wehrmacht-officials who were active in the Heeresgruppen Nord and Mitte as of June 1944, but don't know where to start with copying down all the names I found here.
Unfortunatelly, most of the sources I am using only state the last name (and often wrong too), so the material you guys put online over here is worth it's weight in DKiGold.
(sorry, had to try to be funny).

Re: Awardholders / unit
I have found some while ago a deathcard on the internet of a Franz Eder who supposed to have been DKiG recipient.
I did a search here, but could not find him. Also his name has for as far as I can sse, not been mentioned yet in any source book on DKiG recipients.
Is there anyone that might be able to shed some light on this?

Can anyone confirm that the name on page 12 of DKiG recipient Amman, Thomas, (30.04.1943, Hauptmann d.R., Pi.Btl. 157) is correct here> Patzwall gives him as Amann, with one m and two n's.

Re: Awardholders / unit
Jan-Hendrik,
I need your help with my Uncle who is listed here, Kdr, Hauptmann Ernst Haas
Can you explain to me what regiment he was exactly assigned to and also if you can let me know if there is any other information about him? His regiment, any awards, battles, etc. Was this an SS Unit? From Family members they always said he was MIA
I really would appreciate your help.

Hofmann, Edwin, 02.05.1945, Leutnant, VB i. d. II./Art.Rgt. 171
[Not confirmed finally from a legal point of view but most probably officially awarded. Researched and published in 2007 by author Veit Scherzer; "Vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis" existing but unknown if it was handed out to Hofmann]
I recently discovered in my collection his Clasp, the Vorshalag for the Clasp and the Award Document dated 2 May 1945
I posted them on the Wehrmacht Forum

Some feedback:
/MarcusHello,
Jánis Dzenis was no Waffen-Oberscharführer anymore when he received the Honor Roll Clasp of the Heer(or Waffen-SS)on 05-02-1945.
He was promoted to Waffen-Untersturmführer on 30.01.1945.

Oberfeldwebel Hugo Hoffmeister, 1.Para Div., was captured by British forces in Italy between 4 and 7 Jan 1944.
Hoffmeister described as a Polizeibeamter from Kassel, 28 years old when captured and "Holder of German Gold Cross".

Good afternoon.

I wonder if it could be Jäger-Regiment 218 instead of Infanterie-Regiment 218. The Inf.Rgt. 218 changed to Jäg.Rgt. 218 the 10-10-1941, and Jäg.Rgt. 218 changed to Geb.Jäg.Rgt. 218 the 15-11-1941.
Best regards.

Re: Awardholders / unit
As far as I know, the action for the award took place before the changing of the units designation and the awarding itself after the changing.Good afternoon.
