Sorry to join the fray so late, but 2. (Radf.)/g.S.A 178 is without any doubt a reference to the 2. Radfahrer Schwadron of the Schnelle Abteilung 178, sometimes called "gemischte Schnelle Abteilung" because it melted the divisional Aufklärungs and Panzerjäger Abteilungen 178 since April 1st, 1942. It was organized in five troops or companies: 1. (Reiter) and 2. (Radfahrer) Schwadronen, 3., 4. and 5. (Panzerjäger) Kompanien.

Cheers,

Hi, a question about the Ritterkreuzträger Hauptfeldwebel Josef Niemietz: when he received his Ritterkreuz in 24 July 1943 (after the Battle of Kursk) as a Zugführer Stab 3.Kompanie (Flak) / Panzerjäger-Abteilung 332, under what division he served at the time: 332. Infanterie-Division or 255. Infanterie-Division? Of course the first one is most possible answer, but I couldn't found his name in the award roster of the division in the previous pages.

the data sets are edited according to the notes above.

Here is the next series of listings with issues / ommissions detected and where a final add&corr is raised and the final data set is on the agenda for a decision. Includes data sets of note (for confirmations or to rule out objections).

1) Hans-Joachim Doergens , RK: Pi.Btl. 225
just because it's a typo in Scherzer, "RKT", 1st ed. 2005 ; and the DKiG is not mentioned there
here are the correct entries for RK and DKiG :
KC, 225. ID [page 29] :
Pionier – Bataillon 225 :
13. Doergens, Hans-Joachim 26.06.1944 Hauptmann d.R. Führer Pi.Btl 225
DKiG, 81. ID [page 16] :
Doergens, Hans-Joachim, 21.03.1943, Oberleutnant d.B., 3./Pi.Btl. 181
of note : started as an officer "des Beurlaubtenstandes", was to become an officer "der Reserve". Finished his military career in the FRG Bundeswehr with final rank Oberstleutnant.

2) Bernhard Kuhna , RK: II./IR 508
of note : beside the KC, received three "Urkunden"
two with 292. ID [page 17] :
Commendation Certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army for Shooting Down Aircraft
Kuhna, Bernhard, 16.05.1942 (58), Oberleutnant, 4./Inf.Rgt. 508
Kuhna, Bernhard, 16.05.1942 (58a), Oberleutnant, 4./Inf.Rgt. 508
one with Pz.Gren.Div. "FHH" [page 17]
Commendation Certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army
Kuhna, Bernhard, 27.05.1944 (3368), Major, Kdr. II./Gren.Rgt. “FHH”
Bernhard Kuhna (1908) was SA-Standartenführer in SA-Gruppe Pommern

Ropers, Ahrend, 23.01.1942, Hauptmann d.R., 1./Pi.Btl. 58
Ropers, Ahrend should be Pionier-Bataillon 158 not 58.

I believe this must be the same as Oberst Heinrich Tode, born Greifswald/Mecklenburg 13.6.1894. Can anyone supply further info on him?
