Evening all, doing a spot of work on von Chappuis's successor at XXXVIII Korps and am mystified by an entry on the ABR listings following his retirement at the end of September 1932;
3/33-6/35 Intendant des Ostmarckrundfunks.
Obviously it has something to do with Austria and radios (?), but what is this position (I'm thinking civilian.).
Regards,
Rich

Head/Chief
Intendant means head/chief/executive/manager or some word like that. I don't know what kind of rank he had, but maybe he was the leader of some radio/communication center. I dont know what's meaned with Ostmarck, maybe the name of the center or location. It's not Austria, because that's called Österreich in German.

The answer would appear to be..
Apparently, from e-mails I've recieved (Thanks very much Shawn and Bernhard.) he was managing Director of a radio station in Königsberg!
Hänicke was born in Konstanz. Is this also in East Prussia?
Regards,
Rich.
