1.Fallschirmjäger–Division RKTs

Herbert Fries, Gefreiter Geschützführer 2./Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 1
As an eighteen year old volunterred for FJ service 1943.Joined Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 1 in Italy early 1944."On 21 and 22 May 1944 to the east of Piedimonte,Gefr Fries,from 2./FschPzJägAbt 1,manning the gun of a Panther tank,slowed down the Allies who were trying to outflank what was left of 1FJD,knocking out 17 enemy tanks in the process".

Promoted to Oberjäger,October 19944 and Leutnant April 1945.

Still alive.

Horst Schimpke,Leutnant Zugführer 1./Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 1
Entered Heer 1939.Transferred to Fsch-Pz.Jäger 1940.Saw action in Crete,Russia,Africa,Sicily.Promoted to Leutnant August 1943.During Third Battle for Cassino credited with knocking out 20 tanks.Awarded KC.Commanded Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 10 in 1945.

Günther Sempert.Hauptmann Führer Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 1
Joined Heer 1937.Served in Poland,wounded.Transferred to FJ 1940.Again wounded on Crete.Then served in Russia.Lost an eye in 1942..."this did not prevent him in seeing further action".DKiG June 1944.Served in Italy--at Cassino "his battalion destroyed 120 enemy tanks".Awarded KC.A Major by 1945.

Paul Adolff,Hauptmann d.R. Führer Fsch-Pi.Btl 1
Joined Heer 1935.Transferred to FJ 1940.Fought at Crete,Russia.DKiG March 1942.Jumped into Sicily 1943.Awarded KC for bravery at Primasole Bridge 1943.


"Adolff tried to blow up the bridge.He drove a truck loaded with two aerial bombs onto the bridge in order to detonate them there.Two attempts failed.On July 17 Adolff tried a third time.He was severely wounded in the process and died soon afterward".

Ernst Frömming,Major Kdr Fsch-Pi.Btl 1
Joined Reichswehr 1930.Served with various pioneer units until 1940.Transferred to FJ.Fought at Crete,Russia.At Crete ---"while flying into Crete in 1941 his chute opened in the plane.Frömming refused an order to return to Greece and fly in later.Frömming jumped,and survived,with his chute already opened".In Sicily his pioneer unit was credited with "destroying 146 river crossings and laid more than 5,000 mines".During Cassino battle credited with building the River Savio Bridge which enabled the 1FJD heavy weapons to cross the river.Awarded KC.

Walter Werner,Feldwebel Gruppenführer 1./Fsch-Pi.Btl 1
Joined Heer 1938.Saw service in Poland,France,Balkans.Transferred to FJ 1942.Served in Russia.His 'Strongpoint Werner" at Cassino played a decisive part in the battle.Wounded and then received KC.Leutnant,August 1944.Captured May 1945.

Entered Police 1927.Served Werke unit 1934.Transferred to Luftwaffe 1935.FJ in 1938.Saw action Holland,Crete.Commanded Fsch-MG-Btl 1 in Russia 1942.DKiG May 1942.Fought at Primasole Bridge,Sicily,1943.At Cassino,held his position but was badly wounded.Awarded KC.Hospitalised and unfit for active service thereafter.Promoted to Oberstleutnant December 1944.

The end of the "Unternehmen Stösser" in the frontgarden of the residential house of the family Bouschery, Am Oberen Kalk 6 (the street), upside Monschau, on 22.12.1944.
Medical care by a surgeon of the 9th US-inf.Div.

Informations got from a private local source about 30-40 years ago.

Wolf-Werner Graf von der Schulenburg,Major z.D. Kdr I./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1
Fought on Western Front 1917-1918.Ordnance officer with FJR1 Poland 1939.Served Holland.Crete.Later in Russia.Commanded I./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1,1942-1944.Awarded KC in June 1943 because of his battalion's efforts in unison with the 78.Sturm-Division near Orel.Then served at Cassino.In April 1944 took over command of FJR13 in the West.Killed in action,Normandy,14th July 1944.

Joined Luftwaffe 1939.Transferred to FJR1 and saw action in Poland.Served Norway,April 1940,Holland May,Narvik May-June 1940.Fought at Crete,in Russia.Awarded DKiG March 1943.In Italy 1943-1945,commanded Radfahr-Zug(bicycle platoon).Awarded KC for his Zug efforts in the fighting at Pesaro port--"destroyed several tanks with Panzerfaust--and repulsed enemy counterattacks."Captured by British May 1945.

Joined Luftwaffe 1936,Flak.Transferred to FJ 1940.Saw action in Norway,Crete.Lead 7./Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 1 in Russia 1942.Later in Italy---Ortona,Cassino.Repulsed Allied attack on Cassino town,March 1944.Awarded KC for his command efforts in Italy.Commanded Fsch-Pz.Jäg.Abt 53 in 1945.Promoted to Major and took over command of FJR27,part of 9FJD.Killed in action,28th March 1945,Oder Front near Stettin.

Police cadet 1927.General Göring Regt 1934.Fought in Holland,Crete,Russia.Commanded FJR1 1944 in Italy.Awarded KC for his role at Cassino.Took over command of FJR15 in West,July 1944.Fought in Ardennes 1944/1945.

Joined General Göring Regt 1937.In FJR1 1938.Served Norway,Crete..captured by British for one day but released.Then saw action in Russia.DKiG March 1944.Awarded KC for his bravery,leadership at the Hill 539 fight at Cassino,February 1944.Recommended for promotion to Leutnant but killed in action 24th May 1944.

Joined Heer 1937.Transferred to FJ 1938.Fought Poland,Holland,Crete,Russia.Regimental Adjutant FJR3 1943.Commanded II/FJR3 Ortona,Cassino.Awarded KC for his defense of Cassino.Promoted to Major.Took over command of FJR1 June 1944,Obersrleutnant.Awarded Oak Leaves for role in defensive fighting near Rimini.
