Hello all!

Here's a link to a website that lists RKT Fallschirmjäger that also served in the post-war Bundeswehr. Quite a few picturers also: http://www.fschjgbund.de/html/bundeswehr.html

Source: currently on Ebay
Here we have Student (positive it was him as Meindl was walking with him with the same gloves tucked in his belt in another pic being offered) and Meindl. Given the trees and foliage, you would think it was late Spring/early summer in Grossborn 43 when Meindl moved back from ArmyGr Nord since Oct 42 and was put in charge as Inspector of Luftwaffe Ground Units/Kmdr XIII Fl Corp and charged with the formation of all the new Luftwaffe feld divisions. Student was Gen of Paratroops/Kmdr XI Fl Corp

Then I see Obst Trettner on the extreme right as CdS XI Fl Corp. Would the RKT (looks like added later) be Gustav Wilke who was put in charge of 1 LF Division before the Army took over? Only thing was Wilkes was made GenMj in April 1943 and especially from the pic I mentioned in the previosuly paragraph with an officer wearing short sleeve shirt, it could rule out Wilkes.

Cheers
Freiherr

Nice pictures Peter,on Lepkowski in Bundeswehr service,i dont get as he is in a WW2 camo smock etc...And on the Heydte and Mager with FJR6,France,there in tropical uniforms,is this before they went no north africa or after coming back from there?.So then i wonder what year the picture is,1942/43.

The Lepkowski photo is said to be postwar but you could be right that it was taken in WW2.

The Heydte/Mager photo is said to be in France but the tropical uniforms might mean Italy.Sometime after May 1943.

Interesting that SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Friedrich Alpers commanded Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 9
from the 21st August 1944 to the 3rd September 1944.Died in Belgium around the 1st September 1944,committed suicide after being captured by US troops.

While not a Fallschirmjäger RKT he did carry the award from his service with the Luftwaffe as commander of Fernaufklärungs-Gruppe 4,1942.

Another addition found by Bernd--Fritz Quednow
Quednow, Fritz 05.04.1944 Hauptmann Chef 5./Jäg.Rgt „HG“

remark : Jäger – Regiment „HG“ was formed from Stab, I. and III. / Fsch.Jäg.Rgt 5 in february 1943
(one might say redesignated and renamed) ; before it was called Fallschirmjäger-Regiment “HG” / Kampfgruppe Schmid
quoted here in a official promotion document for Quednow :
http://www.das-ritterkreuz.de/.....ession=424
Quednow KIA 27.04.1943 near Tunis ; Pz.Rgt should be a typo, wasn’t in North Africa (?)
