Hi Fangio,

How do you define "aces"?

Just a few from SchwPzAbt 503.

HptFwb Hans Rondorf and Fwb Johann Gärtner

Cheers
Freiherr

Thanks for the pics Freiherr.
By "aces" I mean those men who knocked out several tanks. Although I don`t really know if this is the exact meaning of "ace". I remember seeing a list of "panzerknackers" in this forum. I'll have to search.
What I really want are pics of men who were in these units (sPzAbt) and had a number of kills (any number). Pics of Kdrs of these units are also welcome.
Best regards.

I found a couple for you Fangio.

This photo of Müller may be the worst example of a photographically added RK that I have ever seen!!

Thanks for those pics JC. You're right about that added RK.
Do you (or anybody) know if Carpaneto was italian or were his parents italians?
Best regards.

I'll make a correction:
Uffz (not Oblt) Alfredo Carpaneto, RK: 28.3.45 as Uffz and Panzerkommandant 2./sPzAbt-502. And yes, he was born in Italy (Rome) and died in Ostpreußen in 1945.
Regards.

Here a pic showing him as Lt. :

Jan-Hendrik

P.S: Its Fw. Heinz Gärtner , not Johann

I have met Mr.Krönke today at Munster at the Panzertruppenschule at Munster today and had the opportunity to talk with him a little bit after the official ceremony for the Volkstrauertag at the "Ehrenhain der Panzertruppe" . A very nice real Gentleman , indeed 8-)

Sorrowly this year there were only 3 men of the Tiger-Abteilungen there , one of sPzAbt.501 , one of sPzAbt.503 and Mr.Krönke who served at both , sPzAbt.503 and 505 ...
