Indivuduals who skipped a rank...

#1

Post by Wilfried Abenaschon » 15 Aug 2002, 19:46

Hi !
I'd like to get some names of general officers who skipped a rank like these ones :
- Kesselring (from General der Flieger to FM)
- Sperrle (idem)
- von Richthoffen (no granted with the rank of Generalleutnant)
- Zeitzler (from Generalmajor zum General der Infanterie)
- Dönitz (never had the rank of Generaladmiral)...
Regards,
Willab

I don't have my research materials to hand right now, but I seem to remember that the Chief of the General Staff of the Luftwaffe, Hans Jeschonnek, skipped the rank of Generalleutnant, going from Generalmajor directly to General der Flieger.

Otto Remer skipped a rank of Lt. Colonel. So Major to full Colonel. There were others as well. Too long to list.
