SS Hauptscharführer Gerhard Palitzsch

Post by Schmauser » 19 Aug 2002 19:00

Does anyone know any dates for Gerhard Palitzsch's service at Dachau, Sachsenhausen, Buchenwald & Auschwitz II (Birkenau) Concentration Camps? And as Commandant of Brunn Concentration Camp.

Also, about his dissapearance ... It states in Heinz Höhne's Order of the Death's Head, that Palitzsch was part of Konrad Morgen's investigation and was sent to Auschwitz where he subsequently dissapeared into a punishment cell! Was this his dissapearance or is this refering to something else?

Dear Schmauser,
i don't know nothing but surfing in the net i ve look this page:

Till Bastian
Auschwitz e la “menzogna su Auschwitz”
Bollati Boringhieri, Torino, 1995

The 20 May 40 arrive in Oswiecim the "sergergent major" of SS Gerhard Paltzsch, future "rapportboss" of the KL, he arrive with 30 german kriminal prisoners form Sachsenhausen camp. They will nominated "funtionary prisoners",they will the longa manus of the SS,.............Bruno Brodniewitsch, prisoner with number N.1, take the function of "old of the camp"

..............

........(concern the elimination with gas the 3 sept 41 of 250 prisoners and 600 Russian war prisoners)..............................the 4 sept, the Rapportfuhrer Gerhard Palitzsch open the doors with gas mask protection and look that some prisoners re in life again, the dorrs re closed again and new gas immission restart.During the night the bodyes go to krematorium and fired, the operation during for some days.

SS-Hscha Palitzsch (Auschwitz) positive data on his fate

Post by Peter » 01 Dec 2002 19:32

Hello
I investigated his fate for my next book using his BDC file (Gerhard Arno Max Palitzsch) and data from various German Archives and confirm the following:

He was degraded to SS-Schutze and placed with 9/SS-PzGrenRgt 8 of 4th SS Div "Polizei".

He was KIA 4-7.12.1944 and buried at the cross roads at Jobbabyi-Ape/Hungary.

More recently his body was moved to Budaois War Cemetery (Block 11, Row 5, Grave 282) on the highway from Vienna to Budapest.

cheers
Peter
