The awarding had to go from HGr Weichsel to HPA / A (Heeres-Personalamt). But he is not registered in the awarding-list. Sauter was a member of the OdR.

I just recieved my own copy of Scherzer's "Ritterkreuzträger 1939-1945" last week. Truly a monumental work! I also noticed that Hauptmann Sauter no longer was officially recognized as a RKT. The RAD-RKT list I posted a while ago was compiled from von Seemen.
I would just like to say that I agree with you on this new Tome on the Ritterkreuzträger. Very, very interesting articles in the first part of the book.
