In the ABR listings for Ehrenfried Boege (Böge), numbers follow the dates of his promotion;
Gen. d. Inf. 1/6/44(3), Gen.-Lt. 1/1/43(50) etc.
What do these figures mean?
Should his name be spelt with ümlaut or not?
Regards from the Park,
Rich

Hi Richard,
The dates indicate the date of his promotion and his seniority amoung those promoted that day. That is "1.6.44(3)" would indicate that he was third in seniority of those promoted on June 1, 1944.
As to the spelling of his name, I believe that it is properly spelled Boege, without an umlaut.
