Hi Dieter!

Thanks for that info in advance. I don´t have Scherzer´s book yet. I would like to ask for Gen. Rabe von Pappenheim (30.04.1945) and Gen. Rudolf Hofmann (07.05.1945). Also falsified?

Thanks in advance!
Jürgen

Hi Gentlemen, a list such as this one has already been made with the exception that that list does not have a listing for each iindividual General officer as the list on this site has. One thing about the list I am talking about is that it has rudementary info only such as: Rank, Name, and unit listing. The list includes also, Generals who have not been awarded the Knights Cross and covers those who became generals before the end of the war. If I am correct, the person's who created their list, did enough research that went back to covering those who were Captains and Majors, who at least made the rank og Generalmajor; by the end of the war. I will see if I can get permission to post a link to their list to be place on this site. It is a list that is also constantly updated and or corrected and is a work in progress. For that reason, that is why I will have to ask their permission to have their lists posted on this site. I will let you know more on this as soon as i hear back from them.

Rolf.

Gentlemen,

I thought I should move this important subject up a bit to the present. There is still plenty of Germans that needs to be recognized by their decorations.

Sincerely,

For fundamental reasons I have severe objections to do so !
Who should handle the project as "ritterpanzer" did ? - but generally as the moderator I had always to correct, to adapt and to move alphabetically the contributions - basically a time-killing and frustrating amusement.

Much more better, such a project should be in the AH-factbook, as much as possible complete and perfected by an proved author.

Deterrent examples for failed projects are the threads "Awards (OL, Sw. & Diam.) personally bestowed by Hitler"
and the "Knight's Cross Database", they will never be finished !

I want to oversee the stickies
"Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes /all recipients/pics"
"Knight's Cross Holders Identification" and
"Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals"
and therefore I still will do my very best.

I want you to understand that an upcoming debate club with insufficient information at the end of the day is absolutely not needed - and please consider we have thousends of Heeresgenerale, how we should sift through the evidence ?!
In fact an important part of researching should be the creation of bios as possible for all Heeresgenerale and the acquisition of a pic in each case. To collect only the list of their awards as pars pro toto is completely dissatisfying !! That's just the way it is.

I'm an old man and I have still a lot to do for the elaboration and completition of "Die Generale der Waffen-SS und der Polizei", Generale des Heeres (S - Z) and Militärverwaltungschefs. Thus I'm used to capacity from morning to night.

Therefore to my regret: The thread is locked.
