Thanks Mark! Here's another recipient standing next to GFM Sperrle... do you have his name?

Sepp:

Impossible to see his face here. This is a Condor Legion Uniform but who is might be is not known. Maybe Rothmann. But its impossible to make a determination from this photo above. The more I look at this photo is might be Martin Harlinghausen as well. ??

This is a Condor Legion Uniform...
Not, it's a Nationalist Aviation uniform.
Could be Alfonso de Orleans y Borbón, Infante of Spain and Duke of Galliera,of the Nationalist Aviation.
These kind of cap was used frequently by Alfredo Kindelán chief of the Nationalist Aviation during SCW.

Von Thoma:

Many thanks. I had first thought it was your man but then the three stars on the uniform threw me into thinking it was a Condor Legion uniform. Now I see what you said about the hat. I agree it is probably Borbón.

Steen Ammentorp from http://www.generals.dk/ has suggested that the man in the photo here is Mario Bernasconi. And it appears that he is correct. The man in the photo shows all the same charachteristics. This make Bernasconi the 87th confirmed recipient of the PO Badge with Diamonds. The list continues to grow. Another possible recipient that needs to be added is Hans Phillipp. He is going into the "possible" category until he can confirm one way or the other.

Another Romanian officer taken at the same time as the photos above shows this young officer also wearing the CPO Badge with Diamonds. Any ideas as to who this might be?? He looks like the ace Tudor Greceanu. Thanks.

Sepp:

It appears that both Bulgarian Generals might be wearing the diamond badge. The man on the right is the commander in Chief of the Bulgarian Air Force General Boidev. Notice a pilot badge next to the Order of the German Eagle. But in this photo it might be the regular badge. I have posted a photo of him wearing what appears to be a standard badge although it could be the "wearers" version of the diamond badge. The man in the middle appears to be Air Force general Atasanov and he DOES appear to be wearing Diamond badge. Hard to believe that Boidev would not himself, have a diamond badge if one of his own generals had one !! But at this point they need to be put in the "possibles" column along with the two Romanian officers above until more evidence comes to light. The two Romanians are definitely wearing diamond badges -- we just need confirmation of their names as I indicated in the posts above.

Attached are photos of the 88th confirmed recipient of the Combined / Pilot Observer Badge with Diamonds -- Otto Hoffmann von Waldau. I had him on the list years ago but could never find any photographic evidence of him wearing the badge. I recently found a video of him that bears out his receipt of the badge.

Also we still need confirmation for the identities of the 2 Romanians and 2 Bulgarians in photos above. I will keep them in the "possibles" category until we can officially name them.
