I thought this was a serious, historical forum.

b.t.w. I'm deeply impressed by your obvious attempt to provoque hereover and turn the serious discussion into polemic nonsense.

looks as if you want this thread to be closed by someone?

Executioners at Nuremburg

Post by fir1912 » 24 May 2006 07:32

Malta, who assisted Woods, is of Italian descent. He lives, if still alive, in the state of Massachusetts and worked for many years in the floor refinishing business.

I remember reading some years ago that he has a miniature gallows in his apartment or home. My personal feeling is that he has some long term unresolved psychological issues from the post WWII era executions.

Bodies

Post by fir1912 » 24 May 2006 18:20

Yes, those are pictures of the bodies taken by U.S. Army Signal Corps photographers in the back of the gymnasium after they were hung. There were also pictures taken of the men's nude bodies but I have never seen any of those pictures.

According to the U.S. government there were no motion pictures taken during or after the executions. I was once told about twenty years ago by a relative of one of the very few German witnesses that motion pictures were taken of the hangings and that the hangings were botched terribly. Without verification, however, this must be considered "heresay information" .....at least about the motion pictures.
