Allocations of German Vehicles to Units - Archive information

The attached from NARA guide T733-R9 on sturmpanzer.com suggest the Generalquartiermeister may have allocated german vehicles to units.

I own a 1944 VW-Schwimmwagen, amphibious vehicle, built 08.04.1944 (the day the very Volkswagen factory was bombed).
It was issued 12.04.1944 to HZA Kassel, and subsequently allocated to a Wehrmacht unit.

I am hoping to find the list for 12.04.1944 of allocation of vehicles to units.
It might be in the information in the Generalquartiermeister folder (Nara rolls / Bundesarchiv Freiburg).

Another avenue could be a centralised list of license plate numbers (if it exisited / still exists).

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as to where I might find this information.
