Hi All,
Does anybody know that Max Kuhnert writer of "Will We See Tomorrow?" served with which German division? He was a cavalry man, but looks like he did not serve with the 1st Cavalry Division.

Re: Max Kuhnert's Division
Hello Naveed,
According to page 8 Kuhnert gives his Feldpostnummer as FP 39462 and indicates they are being attached an infantrie-regiment in Hamburg prior to departing by train to Aachen. In this case he is talking about Infantrie-Regiment 469 itself a part of the 269.Infantrie-Division
39462
(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Regimentsstab Infanterie-Regiment 469
(8.9.1943-22.4.1944) 3.1.1944 Regimentsstab Grenadier-Regiment 469.
39463
I believe he was also in Kavallerie-Regiment 13 as he mentions his service time in Lüneburg before the unit was split up and he went to the I.R.469, page 69.
Hope this helps.

Re: Max Kuhnert's Division
Hi,
269th Infantry Division was attached with Army Group North during the Operation Barbarossa, whereelse Max Kuhnert fought with Army Group Centre.
In his memoirs page he has mentioned that his Division insignia was "Blue Box with a White Line" (during the French campaign), but I have failed to find out that which German Division had this insignia.
Secondly he has also talked about 434 Regiment, this Regiment was a part of 131st Infantry Division. 131st ID was formed on 5th October, 1941, with 2/3 of the division's soldiers came from 31st and 269th IDs. Hence. in my opinion he was attached with 131st ID.
