Rhineland 1936

Post by tigre » 29 Oct 2005 17:03

In March 1936 Hitler's army re-occupied the Rhineland, could anyone tell me please, which units were involved and which cities were reached. Also if possible the units that were raised and deployed there afterwards. Many thanks in advance. Regards. Tigre.

PD: Please the same for the Sarre after the plebiscite there on 1935.

Hi!

The occupation of the Rhineland on 7 March 1936 was carried out by just 3 battalions, which entered Trier, Aachen and Saarbrücken. Apparently elements from the LSSAH were the first German troops to enter Saarbrücken. At noon on the same day, the Landespolizei of the Demilitarised Zone were re-formed into 4 infantry divisions - 25 ID, 26 ID, 33 ID and 34 ID.

Hello to all :D; more pictures........................

Occupation of the Rhineland - March 7, 1936.

For this operation a division was selected to fulfill the mission, but only three battalions were to reach the western border line of the Reich in Aachen, Trier and Saarbrücken to test, especially, the French reaction.........
