Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Batallion 3:

The unit was formed up out of the half of the I./GJR 98 at 20th November 1943.
The composition: staff, three light companies, one heavy company and one mountain battery (formed up out of the 5./GAR 79, Kufstein)
The batallion fought at Monte Cassino and Monte La Pezze. In December 1944 the Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Batallion 3 was integrated as GJR 296 into the 157.GD (later 8.GD).

Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Batallion 4:

The unit was formed up out of the second half of the I./GJR 98 at 20th November 1943.
Comosition: look at HJB 3!
The batallion fought at Monte Cassino and was later part of the 114.Jäger-Division (10.Armee).

That's all.
Regards

Andreas
