SS-Sondereinsatz-Kommando R/Süd FPN 10528

Hi,
here is another question: does anybody knows a so called SS-Sondereinsatz-Kommando R/Süd FPN 10528, someone is looking for information about his grandfather in 1944/45 and I have no idea about this unit.
The field post number is mentioned right in Autumn 1941 … and the unit was in action maybe in the Autumn 1944 in the Hungarian area …

thanks for the reply, could you add more information about the Sondereinsatzkommando R (umänien), it seems to be in action since Autumn 1941 ... ?! Later namend Sonderkommando R/Süd ...
Was it a unit of the Sipo and SD?! Where was the Sondereinsatzkommando in Autumn 1944?!

More information would be really welcome

I assume times it was a frame and was subordinate the SS. Anyhow 1941. Not the SD or the order police.
Which it then write irritates me a little. Security forces???????

thanks for the additional hints, so it´s not clear, where this unit was formed or send to action in 1941 until 1944?
A SS-security force, not mentioned in the AHF or in the Web, a total unknown unit?

The only reference that I found in connection with a Sondereinsatz-Kommando R concerns
the Einsatzkommando " Reinhard" that after its transfer from LUBLIN toward TRIESTE in 1943 becomes the R Aktion or Einheit R under the direction of Christian Wirth and after his death Dietrich Alllers.

Thanks for your „small contribution“ , every hint is welcome because I have still no idea

Concerning the “Einsatzkommando R”, send from Lublin to Triest, I think, that doesn’t fit with the death of the Hstuf. (F) Bartholomäus on Juli 27th 1943 near Shitomir …

But it is vey interesting, that there is a Hauptsturmführer (F) mentioned, a so called “Fachführer”, not a military officer … but what was his profession to get a Hstuf. (F) in the SS and this unit?! It is still a very strange riddle ….

Checking this forum just now, a later poster picked up on this and states - as I do - that this should have referred to SS-Sonderkommando R (R for Russland). After Einsatzgruppe D left the German Volksdeutscher areas west of Nikolajew in September 1941 the whole area was taken over by the Rumanian administration. SS-Sonderkommando R was allowed to fill some of the void left by Einsatzgruppe D in these Volksdeutscher area from 1941 to 1944. The unit was commanded by SS-Staf (later Obf) Horst Hoffmeyer.

A major work on this aspect is Eric C Steinhart, "The Holocaust and the Germanization of Ukraine" now available as a paperback from amazon. Lots of photos and one of Prützmann visiting the area in 1942
