Mmmh I guess that don´t, look at the yellow emblem. I guess that the white horse it´s a sub-unit emblem.

You might be right. There are more photos of that tank. Apparently Panzer Regiment 15 in July 1942.
If we become increasingly humble about how little we know, we may be more eager to search.

The picture with Graf von Blucher on the motorcycle is probably on Crete. I suppose the emblema on the bike
has smth to do with 1.paras, or maybe a sub-unit I am not sure. Von Blucher belonged to the 1. Fallschirmjaeger Regiment, anyway

In a book on D-Day published in 1993, There is a picture of a unit flag (probably captured in Normandy) towards the end of the book.
It is rectangular, divided in half - with top half red, bottom half black.
In the middle is "100" in white.

I am thinking this is the standard of Panzer Abteilung 100 (Panzer Ers und Ausb Abt 100).
This unit was attached to the 91 LL Div in the early days of the Normany Invasion.
It fought using mainly beute french tanks at La Fiere, Le Port, Cauquigny, Carentan, and ultimately destroyed in the Normandy fighting.

Has anyone seen the unit emblem for this unit?
Was this possibly their flag?

Army vehicle markings - unit identification help

Post by Daniel L » 14 Apr 2017 13:21

Can someone help with identification of the unit? Possibly a heavy artillery unit. Eastern front 1942. It appears elements of the unit also operated Panhard armoured cars.

First and fourth is Panzergruppe 3.

Second and third could be 118. Jäger-Division.

Hi everyone;
I have been searching for insignias for these four German divisions, but with no luck.
Did these units have an insignia?

85. Infanteriedivision
271. Infanteriedivision
346. Infanteriedivision
708. Infanteriedivision

Thanks for any help.
Yan.
