Hello to all :D; more on the 1. Gebirgs Division..................

The 1 GD on the Eastern Front.

From 29 of September till 10 of October of 1941. It was carried out the attack against the antitank ditches of Malaja Belosjorka and the pursuit and encirclement due north of the Sea of Azov.

Image

On September 30 of 1941 were reached the trenches of Balka Belosjarka and the attack could not follow ahead any longer due to the strong enemy resistance.

That very day also (30 Sep 1941), the OP of the 5. Battery was knocked by a direct hit; there were killed the Battery commander, Oberleutnant Gebhard together with two Uffz and 1 soldier.

The children walked totally ragged and abandoned.

From November 02 till December 01 of 1941, offensive against Dmitriewka and Diakowa.

Rain, snow and sudden frosts diminished the impulse of the German attack. The Russians tried at all possible costs to breach the German front in Diakowa and the the 1 GD’s neighbor division to the right had to move back 15 kilometers. After hard combats, that lasted 8 days, the Soviets were rejected towards their defensive position on Dmitriewka.

Hello to all :D; more about the 1 GD but this time in 1942 towards the Caucasus.................

With the II. /GAR 79 towards the Caucasus - Summer of 1942.

From May 17 till May 28 of 1942 - Counter-offensive and encirclement due south of Jarkov.

On May 17 of 1942. The spirit had been encouraged and again we were advancing; we had left back our winters’ positions towards the departure's line for the attack. The good communications constituted an essential factor.

The Signal troops operating the radio transmitter equipment 02 (tornister funkgerät 02) standard at regiment, battalion and company level.

At 04:00 hours the attack began; Bachmutowo was the immediate goal of it. A storm of projectiles of all the calibers fell on the Russian positions and the assault on the objective was happily launched.
