The rank of Oberwachtmeister is the polizei (and cavalry?) rank of Feldwebel, the equivilent rank in the UK of between sergeant and sergeant major, or in the US of staff sergeant.

No No No! Not in the rear! Not me, I'm the guy who tells those artillery and mortar guys where to point their pretty tubes. The only rear there is to me is the enemy's. I can't see the enemy from the rear. even the english term for my assignment "tells" that I'm not a "REAR"man!
